Headers collect and distribute steam or water from or to a series of smaller pipes or conduits. Manufactured from carbon or ferritic steel, typically matching the grade of the piping systems. Unlike piping systems which are usually butt welded and bent, headers maintain a straight configuration.

The operational pressures and temperatures depend on the connected component. Headers connected to economizers or water wall panels face less severe material requirements than those connected to superheaters or reheaters.

Available in carbon steel to high-alloy ferritic steels (including T/P91 and T/P92), with diameters ranging from 88.9 mm to 406.4 mm.

Application
