Heat Exchanger Description

Boiler Economizer is the Energy improving device that helps to reduce the cost of operation by saving the fuel.


We can manufacture types of boiler economizer, bare tube economizer, H finned tube economizer and spiral finned tube economizer and gilled tube economizer.


Compared with bare tube economizer, H-finned tube economizer can enlarge the heat exchange area and reduce the number of tubes. It also can increase the flue gas flow area in order to reduce the flue gas flow speed and abrasion.


During boiler operation in typical commercial and industrial applications, approximately 10-20% of the heating value of fuel is expelled with the stack gases to the atmosphere. Stack economizers are designed to recover significant amounts of this stack gas energy loss, thereby vastly improving boiler system efficiency. There are several considerations when selecting an economizer:

• Gas-side Pressure Drop. Added back-pressure on the boiler stack affects the combustion air fan throughput capability. The economizer and combustion air fan(s) must be sized properly in order to assure a suitable system operation and capacity.

• Feedwater Temperature. The feedwater to the economizer must be deaerated and the temperature setpoint minimally at 220oF to prevent tube corrosion.

• Water-side Pressure Drop. Feedwater pumps must be sized to accommodate the economizer pressure drop. Additionally, a continuous modulating feedwater system is required to ensure proper flow rates through the economizer.

The Accessory

The boiler economizer acts as a waste heat recovery device, ensuring that this heat does not go unused.

Instead, the heat is used to essentially preheat the water, so that less heat is required to bring the water to a temperature high enough to make steam



(1) the economizer is a heat exchanger that USES waste heat from boiler smoke exhaust to heat water supply;

(2) the economizer absorbs waste heat of exhaust smoke, reduces the exhaust temperature and improves the efficiency of the boiler;

(3) due to the water supply entering the drum, the water temperature has been raised through the economizer, and the thermal stress on the wall of the drum caused by temperature difference has been reduced, thus improving the working conditions of the drum and extending the service life of the drum.
