Product Introduction

The concept of drum refers to the pressure drop or rise caused by the water circulation. It can also be understood that drum is the pressure change formed by the fusion of gas and water. The air and water molecules in the limit pressure will increase the pressure rise of gas, resulting in the pressure gathering molecules produced after the high pressure reaches a certain value. In industry, drum tank is an industrial equipment which can withstand the air pressure and water level pressure produced by drum.

Construction and Material

Drum working conditions are complex, serious accident consequences, must be strictly controlled drum material chemical composition, mechanical properties and welding and processing quality, and through a series of strict inspection.
The copper cylinder is composed of a cylinder body and a seal head.
(1) cylinder: refers to the cylinder part of the drum, whose inner diameter and length are related to circulation mode, boiler capacity, steam parameters and internal equipment structure.

Attention

Boiler steam drum water level is one of the most important power plant parameters to both measure and control. Control of the proper water level in the boiler is critical for safe operation of the boiler. If the level is too low, boiler tubes will be damaged by overheating. If the level is too high, steam separators will not function properly, temperature control will be difficult, and the superheater tubes and turbine could be damaged by moisture or water treatment chemical carryover.

Functions

The main functions of the steam drum are:
1. It is the connecting hub of the three processes of working medium heating, evaporation and overheating to ensure the normal water circulation of the boiler;
2. Internal steam separation device and continuous sewage discharge device ensure the quality of boiler steam;
3, there is a certain amount of water, with a certain heat storage capacity, to ease the speed of change of steam pressure;
4, drum pressure gauge, water level gauge, accident discharge, safety valve and other equipment to ensure the safe operation of the boiler.

Working Process

1. The separated steam is drawn out from the top section of the drum and distributed for process.

2. Further heating of the saturated steam will make superheated steam normally used to drive a steam turbine.

3. Saturated steam is drawn off the top of the drum and re-enters the furnace in through a superheater.

4. The steam and water mixture enters the steam drum through riser tubes, drum internals consisting of demister separate the water droplets from the steam producing dry steam.

5. The saturated water at the bottom of the steam drum flows down through the downcomer pipe.
