The superheater is a device used to convert saturated steam or wet steam into superheated steam or dry steam. The superheated steam is used in steam turbines for electricity generation and steam engines etc.

Superheaters are the one of the most important accessories of boiler that improves the thermal efficiency.

In the boiler, the role of superheater is to heat the saturated steam to a certain temperature of superheated steam to increase power plant efficiency. Reheater essentially further improves the thermal power plant cycle efficiency.

Superheater is to increase the temperature of the steam above its saturation point.
Reheater is basically a superheater that superheats steam exiting the high-pressure stage of a turbine. The reheated steam is then sent to the low-pressure stage of the turbine.
